Most homeowners only do this once or twice in a lifetime, so the chaos of install day catches them off guard. Here's what actually happens on a Synergy job from sunup to cleanup.
7:00 AM — Dumpster and protection
The dumpster lands in the driveway and crews tarp landscaping, AC units, and pool decks. Move patio furniture and any cars you'll need before this point.
8:00 AM — Tear-off begins
Old shingles come off in sections. Expect impact noise on the ceilings — paintings on shared walls should come down. The crew works one slope at a time so the deck is never fully exposed to a surprise shower.
10:00 AM — Decking inspection
Every sheet of decking gets walked. Soft spots are replaced before underlayment goes down. We photograph and itemize every replacement so you can see exactly what was done.
1:00 PM — Underlayment, flashing, shingles
Synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield in valleys, new pipe boots and step flashing, then the new shingle field starts. A two-story 30-square home is typically dried-in by lunchtime.
5:00 PM — Cleanup and magnetic sweep
Final ridge caps, debris bagged, magnetic roller across the lawn and driveway twice. We pick up nails before we pull out — and we come back the next day for a second sweep.
