Restore the color

Fix it before you finish it
Loose pickets and damaged boards are flagged before staining, so you are not coating over a problem.

Frequently asked questions
How often should a fence be stained?
In the Houston climate, most wood fences benefit from fresh stain every two to four years. The right interval depends on the stain type, the wood and how much sun the fence gets.
Can a new fence be stained right away?
New pressure-treated pine usually needs time to dry before it will take stain well. Cedar can often be finished sooner. We check the wood before recommending a start date.
Should I stain or paint my fence?
Stain soaks into the wood, shows the grain and wears gradually. Paint gives a solid, uniform color but sits on the surface and can peel over time. We will help you choose what suits your fence.
Do I need to be home?
Usually not. We need access to both sides of the fence and the gate, with the fence line clear of furniture and stored items.
What happens after I reach out?
Vance will confirm your address and the work you want, then schedule a visit to measure the fence and give you a free estimate.
